Purpose: The Farm Animal Rescue of Mifflinburg Outreach staff strive to promote the humane treatment of farm animals through awareness programs tailored to different groups.

aEUR< Young Children's Program: aEUR< The FARM Educational Outreach Coordinators have developed a humane farm animal education and awareness program for children to help teach the basic needs of farm animals as well as to promote respect, empathy and compassion for all living things. Many children have an innate interest in animals that we tap into in order to show that animals, like people, have feelings, emotions and personalities and are more than just sources of food and labor.

A variety of lesson plan themes are available or one can be customized for your group. All lesson plans have been developed to meet the Pennsylvania Common Core Standards and our services are free (donations are appreciated, of course!).

Some of the components of our children's programs are focused story readings, educational and sensory activities, crafts, multimedia presentations about the animals on the FARM, Farm-to-Home activities sheets & more.

Older Children's and Adult Program: The FARM Educational Outreach Coordinators have also developed programs tailored to older children and adults. These programs typically involve discussion of who we are, what we do and why we do what we do here at the FARM, as well as humane farming practices in general. Specifics of the program appropriate for your group may be discussed with our Outreach Coordinators, please contact them through our email .
