Volunteer
The Farm Animal Rescue of Mifflinburg offers animal lovers who support our mission the opportunity to help us help the animals that call the FARM home.
RESTRICTIONS:
Volunteers
must be 18 or older and have medical/health insurance
coverage. THERE IS NO SMOKING PERMITTED ON THE
PROPERTY. Experience working with animals is
helpful, but not required.
WHAT TO EXPECT: If you become a volunteer at the FARM, you should expect to work in all types of weather. The work is often dirty and sometimes quite strenuous. You should expect to work inside of animal enclosures, sometimes very close to the animals (they like to supervise!). Wearing clothing appropriate to this type of work and the weather conditions is required, including closed-toe shoes (boots are recommended).
WHAT IT IS
NOT:
Volunteering should not be seen as just
an opportunity to come out and pet farm animals, offer
them treats and/or give them hugs. When our work is
over, there may be time for these things, but the
work that volunteers do is important for helping us
keep the animals healthy and safe.
WHAT IT IS:
Working with these animals is fun and rewarding, and a
great way to spend time outdoors in a country setting!
Everything that we do at the Farm
Animal Rescue of Mifflinburg we do for the benefit of the
animals - we're volunteers, too! No person
affiliated with the FARM receives any financial benefit
of any kind!
If you would like to apply and can
commit to working a few hours a week or more, please
download an application packet, sign and mail to the
address located at the top of this web page or scan it
